- Barry's Flatbed Construction Day Feb 2, 2008
Barry
& Rebecca hosted 7 society members that successfully made the trek
to Athens. We learned how to make flatbed loads, telephone poles,
picnic tables (than you Brenda for the kits), red cedar clapboards.
Scott also gave us a quick demonstration on how to use Jigstone
molds. See pictures in the Feb 15, 2008 Iron Horse.
- West Buxton Library Train Display March 15, 2008
For
the 2nd year, Paul Corbett provided an exciting train layout to promote
the use of the library facility. In their cozy 1853 one room
schoolhouse, he displayed a western theme complete with Denver &
Rio Grande rolling stock, a frontier town, a Sioux Indian village, and
buffalos.
A
total of 68 people saw the working layout, and the Library personnel
were very pleased. The Saco River Public Cable station even stopped by
to film the event and interview our President, Carl Churchill.
